British Airways Employment At Glasgow Airport
EDM number 178 in 2008-09, proposed by Jim Sheridan on 08/12/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Aviation and Employment.
That this House expresses its concern at the continuing loss of jobs by British Airways (BA) staff at Glasgow Airport and other regional airports across the UK; notes that these job losses which are not in the best interests of the public demonstrate BA's lack of commitment to serving regional airports outside London, its willingness to undermine the long-term security of the workforce and to treat regional airports such as Glasgow as trading posts; and believes that BA should reconsider this decision or go the whole way and rebrand themselves London Airways.
