Provision Of Healthcare In Burnage

EDM number 170 in 2008-09, proposed by John Leech on 08/12/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Health services and Service industries.

That this House recognises that when planning permission was granted to Tesco to build a supermarket in Burnage, as a condition of the approval, Tesco was to build a new surgery for the Kingsway Medical Practice; notes with concern that the deadline of 4 April 2008 has passed and that, despite the best efforts of the Kingsway Medical Practice, Tesco has failed to start the work; regrets the delay in providing a new purpose-built surgery for the residents of Burnage; questions whether Tesco has reneged on its promise; and calls on Tesco to stop dragging its feet and to fulfil its obligations to the people of Burnage.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
