De Havilland Comet C2 At Raf Lyneham

EDM number 1555 in 2008-09, proposed by Bob Spink on 01/06/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Armed forces.

That this House is deeply concerned by the proposal to scrap the De Havilland Comet C2 Sagittarius, currently displayed at the gate of RAF Lyneham; appreciates the cost of restoring a large airframe but notes the significance of the Comet C2 Sagittarius as probably the last complete short fuselage Comet in the world; and calls on the Government to do all it can to protect this important part of the nation's history by transferring ownership of the aircraft to the RAF museum.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
