That this House welcomes the joint initiative by VisitScotland, Event Scotland and the Scottish Government to celebrate the 250th birthday of Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns, with a year-long programme of events as part of the Homecoming Scotland programme; recognises that this excellent initiative encourages all Scots, those with Scots ancestry and those who simply love Scotland to participate in celebrations in this landmark year; further recognises that Homecoming will recognise the huge contribution made by the Scottish diaspora to the fields of science and the arts throughout history and across the world; notes that events will be held in every community in Scotland; and wishes all the best to all those involved with this initiative.
