Sale Of Rossendale Transport Buses

EDM number 1418 in 2008-09, proposed by Paul Rowen on 05/05/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Buses.

That this House has grave concerns about the sale of Rossendale Transport Buses to a national bus company; notes that such a sale is likely to lead to local bus services throughout Lancashire being cut or cancelled completely; further notes that such cuts or cancellations would leave disabled, elderly and vulnerable individuals cut off from Rochdale town centre's amenities; fears that this may in turn negatively affect the already suffering local businesses; agrees with the aims of the Save Our Bus campaign; and calls on Rossendale Transport Buses to halt this sale.
