Luton Town Football Club

EDM number 1337 in 2008-09, proposed by Kelvin Hopkins on 23/04/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House congratulates Luton Town Football Club on winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley, beating a team from the upper part of a higher division; believes that this demonstrates the passion, commitment and skill of all the team's players and manager; notes also the many thousands of loyal Luton Town supporters who went to Wembley to cheer on the team, clearly showing the massive level of support for the team in and around Luton; considers that it is a travesty of justice that the club has now been relegated from the Football League following the grotesquely unfair deduction of 30 points; and confidently expects Luton to be challenging for promotion next year and going on to even greater success in future years.
