That this House notes the importance of utility companies exercising socially responsible and sustainable business practices; congratulates the staff and directors of Northumbrian Water Ltd upon receiving the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the category of sustainable development; notes that Northumbrian Water Ltd was recognised as the Reigning Utility Company of 2008 and is a platinum-ranked company and a leader for all utility companies in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index; further notes that the Queen's Award recognises the importance of the special relationships Northumbrian Water Ltd has forged with a wide and diverse range of partners; and wishes the company continued success.
