Communication With Hon. Members

EDM number 1310 in 2008-09, proposed by John Hemming on 21/04/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Members of Parliament.

That this House notes that Article 13 of the Bill of Rights defines one function of Parliament as being `for redress of all grievances'; recognises that the people of the United Kingdom have a right to communicate with hon. Members about grievances; regrets the attempts by at least one local authority and judge recently to prevent a father from talking to hon. Members about his case; and believes that actions to prevent the citizens of the United Kingdom from reporting their grievances to hon. Members undermine parliamentary democracy.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
