Members of the Scottish Parliament who oppose new nuclear power stations in Scotland; notes the publication of the Energy Trends report, by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, which reveals that nuclear production in Scotland fell by a quarter in 2006, while electricity generation as a whole including renewables increased, underlining that nuclear is unreliable as well as unnecessary; recognises that Scotland has the natural resources to generate clean, green power; and welcomes the Scottish Government's efforts to harness Scotland's renewables potential to meet future energy demands while tackling climate change.
