Mobile Telephones On Flights
EDM number 57 in 2007-08, proposed by Lee Scott on 06/11/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Aviation and Telecommunications.
That this House is opposed to plans by some European airlines to introduce mobile telephone services on their flights; notes that in the most recent survey of business travellers the majority were opposed to the idea; believes that use of mobile telephones on aircraft will irritate other passengers; fears that users will face substantial hidden charges for such services; and is gravely concerned that the mobile service may be used to detonate a bomb hidden in luggage or cargo.
