That this House notes with great concern the increase in repression against student activists protesting against the dictatorship and for social justice in Iran; further notes that around 30 students and other activists have been arrested, including a number who stayed away from their universities after warnings from the intelligence ministry; urges the Iranian government to release these student activists and to drop all sabotage charges against them; and calls upon the UK Government to press the Iranian government to respect basic human rights and the relevant international standards and treaties.
