That this House would like to congratulate the UK team on its tremendous efforts at the WorldSkills 2007 competition in Shizuoka, Japan, where they won a fantastic 13 awards with one gold, one silver and two bronze plus nine medallions of excellence placing them 11th in the world and fourth in Europe; further wishes to demonstrate its support for the UK team in the next WorldSkills competition in 2009 in Canada and particularly in 2011 when WorldSkills will be hosted in London; and finally urges the Government and all hon. and Right hon. Members to wholeheartedly support skills competitions and young up-and-coming skills competitors in their area as a means of encouraging skills excellence and its base in the UK.
