Military Covenant (No. 2)

EDM number 256 in 2007-08, proposed by Liam Fox on 14/11/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Armed forces, Armed forces welfare, Employment and Military operations.

That this House pays tribute to the Royal British Legion campaign Honour the Covenant; notes that the Military Convenant enshrines the agreement between the nation and the armed forces that service personnel will forsake their own safety in the defence of others, in return for which the state will support them and their families in times of need; further notes that service personnel have not always received vital equipment in theatre; believes that serving military personnel and veterans must be able to trust the Government to look after the wellbeing of the armed forces and their families; further believes that this Government has so far failed to honour their commitment to the Military Covenant; and calls on the Government to uphold its half of the bargain.

This motion has been signed by a total of 51 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
