Car Tax

EDM number 2541 in 2007-08, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 19/11/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Roads and Taxation.

That this House calls on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to provide people with incentives to buy and renew their car tax at local post office branches; notes that the DVLA currently encourages people to renew their car tax online by entering individuals into a competition to win a free SEAT car; expresses its concern that the DVLA is not promoting British manufacturing by providing a free British-built car and that the prize is only offered to those who have internet access; and further calls on the DVLA to broaden its incentive to include those who use the Post Office in order to support the network while giving people greater flexibility to renew their car tax.

This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
