Community Service Volunteers Make A Difference Day

EDM number 2505 in 2007-08, proposed by Madeleine Moon on 13/11/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Charities and Voluntary organisations.

That this House notes the success of Community Service Volunteers (CSV) 13th annual Make a Difference Day, the UK's biggest day of hands-on volunteering and the only campaign that asks people to give time, not money; congratulates the 700,000 people who have taken part since 1996 and the 35,000 volunteers who took part this year involved in the 1,269 unique projects nationwide; notes that 11 million people suggest that they would volunteer if only they were asked; and therefore encourages hon. Members to promote the work of CSV, the UK's largest volunteering and training charity, and its aim to involve young people aged between 16 and 35 in voluntary service in the UK, in order to enrich the lives of volunteers and those they help and to generate social change.

This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
