That this House congratulates John Key, the new Prime Minister of New Zealand, on returning the National Party to power after nearly a decade in opposition, following its historic victory in the General Election on 8th November 2008; and urges Her Majesty's Government to work closely with the incoming government of New Zealand in order to strengthen the deeply held bond of friendship that exists between the two island nations who, despite being on opposite corners of the planet, share so much in common, through language, culture, history, economic co-operation, military and political ties and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as Head of State and Sovereign.
