Future Of The Post Office Network

EDM number 2458 in 2007-08, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 10/11/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Benefits administration and Postal services.

That this House recognises the unique and valued national institution of Royal Mail at this time of financial crisis; urges the Government to create a people's bank based on its trusted post office network; and further urges the Government to stop the damaging and unpopular post office branch closure programme, strengthen the Post Office card account to make it a key part of a new nationally-owned bank and take the necessary and popular steps to stop further cutting back of Royal Mail capacity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 53 MPs.
