Theyworkforyou Website
EDM number 2455 in 2007-08, proposed by Bob Spink on 10/11/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Information technology and Parliament.
That this House congratulates the website theyworkforyou which increases accountability by giving more transparency to the work of hon. Members for their constituents, enables hon. Members to monitor their own performance and helps them to focus on certain aspects of the service they give to constituents and Parliament; calls on theyworkforyou website to include the number of early day motions (EDMs) tabled by each hon. Member in order to provide yet more transparency and to provide a ready source of information to constituents who are increasingly asking hon. Members about EDMs; notes that EDMs tabled are an additional measure of hon. Members' activity, which also indicate their areas of interest and views on matters of public policy; and further notes that recording EDMs tabled may discourage less appropriate or frivolous EDMs.
This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
