Mr David Pugh And The Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards 2008

EDM number 2349 in 2007-08, proposed by Stephen Hepburn on 27/10/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Legal profession.

That this House is concerned that Mr David Pugh of Halliwells Solicitors has been nominated to receive an award at the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards 2008 due to be held at the Café Royal on 4th November 2008; is further concerned that an awards ceremony that purports to recognise excellence within the personal injury sector should consider Mr Pugh's attack on workers' compensation for occupational injury an example of excellence; notes that Mr Pugh applied his legal expertise to the detriment of thousands of workers in the pleural plaques test case that saw pleural plaques removed as a compensatable injury; and calls on the organisers of the awards ceremony, Barker Brooks Media, the company behind Legal and Medical and Claims Management magazines, to remove Mr Pugh from the list of nominees.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
