Flybe/loganair Shetland Flights
EDM number 2345 in 2007-08, proposed by Alistair Carmichael on 27/10/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Aviation and Companies.
That this House believes that Flybe/Loganair is exploiting its monopoly as the sole commercial airline operating flights between Shetland and the UK mainland to impose charges for credit and debit card bookings and seat reservations; further believes that charges should not be applied to using debit cards, nor should they be applicable to seat reservations; further believes that charges applied to credit cards should be drastically reduced and applied per booking not per passenger per flight, like the policy of outgoing operator British Airways; and congratulates the Shetland Times on its petition campaign to see seat reservation and debit card charges dropped and credit card charges lowered.
