Bottesford Railway Services

EDM number 2302 in 2007-08, proposed by Alan Duncan on 21/10/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Railways.

That this House is concerned that the proposed reduction to trains stopping at Bottesford in the evening would have a considerable impact on East Midlands commuters; believes that there is no justification for reducing the service in the evenings and that people leaving work after 5.30 p.m. would be left with an unreasonable wait until 8.55 p.m. for a train; further believes that a reduced train service will force people back into cars which will have a negative impact on the environment; is further concerned about the impact on a small rural community of a reduced train service; concludes that the reduction of this train service would inconvenience commuters, and would be detrimental both to the train company's business and the environment; and respectfully calls on East Midland trains to reverse its decision so that Bottesford can remain able to deliver commuter links to Nottingham.
