That this House notes that, according to a No. 10 Downing Street Press Notice issued on 31st March 2000, Michael Ashcroft gave a clear and unequivocal assurance that he would take up UK residence before being introduced to the House of Lords; further notes the continuing speculation about his tax status; and invites Lord Ashcroft to state publicly when he became a UK resident for tax purposes.
