Tesco Five Pence Off Petrol Scheme
EDM number 2071 in 2007-08, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 16/07/2008.

That this House calls on Tesco to reverse its decision to exclude infant formula and baby food from the five pence per litre fuel promotion whereby customers who spend £50 receive a fuel voucher; notes that customers purchasing £50 of alcohol will be granted a voucher but families who spend money on baby food out of necessity cannot use that money spent towards a voucher; considers that the offer encourages greater spending on alcohol, which flies in the face of supporting families with young children; and further notes the contradiction that Tesco believes that Every Little Helps except when it comes to helping little ones.
