That this House calls for procurement policies on the purchasing of food supplied by farmers to supply the supermarkets and shops in their local area; recognises the quality of locally-grown and reared produce; further calls for efforts to ensure less environmental damage by reducing the number of food miles; further calls for the creation of sustainable communities by bringing together farmers and buyers; and further calls for the establishment of local farm co-operatives to help build relationships between food outlets and their neighbourhood farmers.
