Bancroft Road Library And Archive

That this House believes that the Bancroft Road Library and Archive is a priceless, integrated resource which has been meticulously maintained by its staff as a record of London's multicultural East End and that breaking up the library and archive would permanently damage it; notes that the superb Wiener Library, the oldest Holocaust memorial institution in the world, is in need of a new home; and believes that the Bancroft Road Library and Archive should not be broken up and put into storage in order to house the Wiener Library, but instead that the old Poplar District Board of Works building, which is currently unused and scheduled for sale, is an appropriate alternative site to bring the Wiener Library into the East End.
