British Grand Prix At Donington

EDM number 1975 in 2007-08, proposed by Keith Vaz on 07/07/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House warmly welcomes the move of the British Grand Prix from Silverstone to Donington in Leicestershire from 2010; notes that Donington is already a world class venue for both drivers and fans; further notes that development plans for the track will transform it into a thoroughly modern Formula One circuit; highlights that the Donington track has a history with Formula One that dates back further than Silverstone, with the competition first held there in 1935; and calls attention to its excellent location in the centre of the country with good transport links to motorways and East Midlands Airport.
