Hm Revenue And Customs Crewe Office Closure

EDM number 1954 in 2007-08, proposed by Edward Timpson on 03/07/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Employment and Taxation.

That this House notes with concern Government proposals to close the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) office in Crewe; is concerned that this would leave people and businesses across Cheshire without access to HMRC services; appreciates the high level and length of service by HMRC staff in this office; recognises the difficulties of staff in finding another place of work within reasonable travelling distance of Crewe; and calls on the Government to suspend the closure plans and conduct a full review of the impact on the geographical area and HMRC business streams affected by these proposals.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
