Assistance For Lower Income Households

EDM number 1940 in 2007-08, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 02/07/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Incomes and poverty, Pay and Taxation.

That this House notes the continuing controversy surrounding the 10 per cent. tax band and the effect abolition would have on those on lower incomes across the United Kingdom; recognises that demands for significant pay increases to meet rapidly escalating price rises, particularly of food and fuel, are inevitable; and therefore calls upon the Chancellor of the Exchequer to review the individual personal allowances in a way that will assist the net incomes of those whose present gross income is around £12,000 per annum.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
