Helmand Incursion

EDM number 1928 in 2007-08, proposed by Paul Flynn on 01/07/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Afghanistan, Armed forces, Asia and Military operations.

That this House salutes the courage and professionalism of NATO troops in Afghanistan; mourns the record 45 deaths of NATO soldiers in June 2008, including 13 British soldiers; recalls statements in 2006 of both the hope that the Helmand incursion would be over in three years without a shot being fired and the warning that the mission would be futile and dangerous as the Charge of the Light Brigade; and calls for a reassessment of the aims of the Helmand incursion now that the total numbers of British fallen nears the number killed in the Charge of the Light Brigade.

This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
