That this House welcomes the Love Music Hate Racism Carnival due to take place in East London on Sunday 27th April 2008; recognises the historic impact and importance of the Rock Against Racism Concert which took place in Victoria Park in 1978; congratulates Love Music Hate Racism performers, organisers and supporters including trade unions; is aware that many anti-racism activists have campaigned over a long period to thwart the spread of racism in the United Kingdom over the past 30 years and to stop it being considered in any way acceptable; notes that the racist BNP are hoping to secure a seat in the forthcoming London Assembly elections and in other council elections; and calls on voters in London and throughout the country to use their vote on 1st May to keep the racists out of public office.
