Global Coal Management Mine In Bangladesh

EDM number 1303 in 2007-08, proposed by Harry Cohen on 01/04/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Asia, Coal and Industry.

That this House notes the World Development Movement's belief that plans for a coal mine in Bangladesh which are being pushed through by a UK company, Global Coal Management, should not go ahead; expresses deep concern that the Asian Development Bank should be funding this type of project; and considers that money earmarked for development should not be used for projects that will displace 40,000 people from their land and place a further 100,000 people at risk from a reduced or contaminated water supply.

This motion has been signed by a total of 28 MPs.
