International Brigade And The 70th Anniversary Of Guernica

EDM number 1106 in 2007-08, proposed by Kate Hoey on 04/03/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Military operations, Veterans and Western Europe.

That this House pays tribute to the members of the International Brigade who fought for freedom and against fascism in the Spanish Civil War; salutes their enduring courage and valour; recognises that 2008 marks the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Guernica, where the Luftwaffe honed the techniques that were subsequently used on London; and calls on the Government to send a representative to the memorial tributes for the International Brigade in July at Jubilee Gardens, Waterloo.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
