Real Time Electricity Display Units
EDM number 103 in 2007-08, proposed by Colin Challen on 06/11/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Consumers, Electricity, Energy, Energy conservation and Utilities.
That this House welcomes the policy in the 2007 Energy White Paper that electricity suppliers should provide, free of charge to all customers who request them, real time electricity display units so that they can see how much energy they are consuming and what it is costing at any moment; believes that such information will provide significant national early carbon savings and will also help customers to save energy with benefits to their pocket and the environment; and urges electricity suppliers to ensure they can provide such meters and promote them effectively to their customers as early as possible in 2008.
