Violence Against Women
EDM number 982 in 2006-07, proposed by Mike Penning on 26/02/2007.
That this House condemns all forms of violence against women; notes that almost half of women experience domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking in their lifetime and that many women are forced into marriage and over 2,000 women are trafficked into the UK for sexual trade and exploitation each year; and calls on the Government to launch an integrated approach to addressing all violence against women in all its forms.
