Mayor Of London And Foreign Policy
EDM number 675 in 2006-07, proposed by Greg Hands on 18/01/2007.
That this House expresses its displeasure over the current Mayor of London's continued desire to conduct foreign policy; is deeply concerned that, at a time when the RMT is balloting on strike action on the Tube, the Mayor is using council taxpayers' money to host and fund a conference on 20th January 2007 entitled A World Civilisation or a Clash of Civilisations?, to include sessions on democratic solutions for the Middle East and Can there be progressive colonialism?; and urges the Mayor to concentrate on solving pressing problems facing Londoners rather than behaving like an alternative Foreign Secretary.
