PFA's CENTENARY

EDM number 631 in 2006-07, proposed by Graham Stringer on 15/01/2007.

That this House recognises that the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) will celebrate its centenary later this year, having held its first meeting in the Imperial Hotel, Manchester on 2nd December 1907, chaired by Manchester United player Billy Meredith; and congratulates the PFA on setting up One Goal One Million, the PFA Centenary Trust Fund, which aims to raise as much money as possible for medical facilities for children, the first £1 million raised being ear-marked for a children's treatment and rehabilitation unit at the new Children's Hospital in Manchester.

This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
