Refusal Of Visa To Iraqi Parliamentarian Mohammed Al Deeni

EDM number 594 in 2006-07, proposed by George Galloway on 10/01/2007.

That this House notes with dismay the refusal of an entry visa for the independent Iraqi MP Mohammed Al Deeni, thus blocking his visit to address members of the Houses of Parliament on the human rights abuses he has uncovered in Iraqi jails; further notes that Al Deeni's groundbreaking television exposé of torture, rape and murder in Iraq's Diyala jail was followed immediately by the cold-blooded murder of his 10 cousins by sectarian death squads; and calls on the Foreign Office to reconsider its decision as a matter of urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
