Waste Management In London

EDM number 418 in 2006-07, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 06/12/2006.

That this House is concerned that London has the poorest record on recycling and litter of all English regions; notes that London relies heavily on sending waste to landfill in surrounding regions; believes that the current package of measures proposed by Government in the Greater London Authority Bill will not deliver sustainable, co-ordinated waste management for London; and instead calls for a single waste disposal authority for London to replace London's existing fragmented and underperforming arrangements.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
