EDM number 240 in 2006-07, proposed by Douglas Hogg on 22/11/2006.

That this House, noting the views of General Sir Richard Dannatt and the recommendations that are currently being made to President Bush by a committee under the chairmanship of former Secretary of State James Baker, believes that a committee of no fewer than seven right hon. Members should be appointed by Mr Speaker to advise this House on the present situation in Iraq and on what policies should now be pursued by the Government; further believes that the Government should furnish to that committee all such documents and information that it may require; and further believes that the committee should report to this House within two months of being appointed.
