Jordan Valley And West Bank

EDM number 2180 in 2006-07, proposed by David Lepper on 23/10/2007.

That this House notes that 95 per cent. of the land and 98 per cent. of the water in the Jordan Valley has been taken from the Palestinians since 1967 and is now controlled by the Israeli army and illegal Israeli settlers; further notes that house demolitions, checkpoints, closures, land confiscation and pass regulations imposed by the Israeli occupation are undermining the Palestinian economy and leading to the annexation by Israel of the whole of the Jordan Valley; and calls on the Government to call for Israel's withdrawal from the Jordan Valley and all the territories it has occupied illegally since 1967, and put pressure on the EU to withdraw the preferential trade agreements with the EU that Israel currently enjoys and impose economic sanctions against Israel until it fully withdraws from the West Bank.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
