Romanian And Bulgarian Migrant Workers

That this House welcomes the joint study by HM Treasury, the Home Office and the Department for Work and Pensions that highlights the £6 billion a year in economic growth that comes as a result of migration to the UK; acknowledges the petition presented by Romanian community groups to the Prime Minister on 15th October 2007 calling for the end to working restrictions; congratulates the way in which the Romanian and Bulgarian governments have campaigned to lift such restrictions on their migrant workers; and calls upon the UK Government to lift the unnecessary and unfair restrictions on Romanian and Bulgarian workers in the UK.
