Iran And Mr Blair

EDM number 2157 in 2006-07, proposed by John McDonnell on 19/10/2007.

That this House condemns comments made by Mr Tony Blair attacking Iran in a speech in New York on 18th October; believes that his intervention is deeply unhelpful at a time when elements of the US Administration appear determined to pursue an attack against Iran; further believes that his expressed belief that the war on Iraq was not a cause of rising extremism in the region is contradicted by a US intelligence report released in September 2006 which blamed the conflict for fuelling terrorism; and therefore calls on the Government to oppose any attack against Iran.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
