Energy Saving Week Campaign

EDM number 2152 in 2006-07, proposed by Gregory Barker on 18/10/2007.

That this House congratulates the Energy Saving Trust for organising its 11th annual Energy Saving Week from 22nd to 28th October; recognises that energy efficiency is the cleanest, safest and cheapest way of reducing carbon dioxide emissions; applauds Café Direct and the Women's Institute, the Royal Mail and postal workers, Proctor & Gamble, DSGI, B&Q and faith groups for taking the lead in their communities in promoting energy efficiency; urges all hon. Members also to show leadership in their constituencies by supporting the Energy Saving Trust's Energy Saving Week in promoting individual responsibility and actions by making a pledge to adopt at least one of 10 small measures to reduce the amount of energy they consume on a daily basis; and notes that since the Energy Saving Trust was established it has funded or influenced measures giving lifetime savings of around 20 million tonnes of carbon.

This motion has been signed by a total of 62 MPs.
