Red Arrows And The Olympics

EDM number 2092A1 in 2006-07, proposed by John Mann on 17/10/2007.

leave out from `hearts' to end and insert `notes that neither the Government nor the London 2012 Organising Committee has any objection whatsoever to the involvement of the Red Arrows in the Opening Ceremony or any other celebrations associated with the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games; rejects, therefore, any newspaper claims to the contrary as untrue and unfounded; recognises that with almost five years to go to the Games, decisions are yet to be made about what the celebrations will look like; notes that the Red Arrows have already played a memorable role in the celebrations, when they flew over Trafalgar Square to mark London winning the Games in 2005; and calls upon the Government and the London Organising Committee to ensure that the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Games are a spectacular showcase of Britain's best.'.

This is a ammendment to 2092.
