Reinstatement Of Amrit Lalji
EDM number 2073 in 2006-07, proposed by Keith Vaz on 09/10/2007.
That this House welcomes the decision of the company Eurest to reinstate Amrit Lalji; recalls that Ms Lalji was dismissed for wearing a nose stud given to her as part of the Hindu Shringar ceremony as a symbol of her married status; congratulates Ms Lalji for her three month campaign to retain her position and wear the stud that she has worn for 25 years; and recognises the efforts of the GMB union for its support on this issue.
