Solicitors Regulation Authority
EDM number 2070 in 2006-07, proposed by Keith Vaz on 09/10/2007.
That this House notes with deep concern the disproportionate number of investigations by the Solicitors Regulation Authority of ethnic minority firms of solicitors; considers it essential that the official body that regulates solicitors is seen to be fair; and calls on the Secretary of State for Justice to initiate a review of the policy and practice of the Solicitors Regulation Authority to deal with the widespread criticism from ethnic minority firms.
