United Kingdom Lung Cancer Coalition Campaign

EDM number 1946 in 2006-07, proposed by John Leech on 18/07/2007.

That this House congratulates the members and partners of the United Kingdom Lung Cancer Coalition, including its charities, clinicians and healthcare companies, on the drive to raise awareness of the disease; notes with concern that lung cancer remains the UK's largest killer cancer, resulting in the death of one person in the UK every 15 minutes, or more than 33,000 deaths every year; welcomes the voice of the UK Lung Cancer Coalition in calling for equal and improved access to lung cancer services across the country, for greater investment in lung cancer reseach, for every patient to have access to a specialist lung cancer nurse, and for all patients and their families to have the information and support they need; and calls on the Government to work with the UK Lung Cancer Coalition to reach their ambitious but achievable target of doubling five-year lung cancer survival rates by 2015.

This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
