Set Aside
EDM number 1908 in 2006-07, proposed by Timothy Farron on 12/07/2007.
That this House believes that the policy of Set Aside, whereby areas of farmland are designated not to be farmed, should be abolished in light of recent bad weather and flooding which is likely to reduce the European harvest by up to six million tonnes; and acknowledges that stocks are already at historic lows and that abolishing Set Aside would enable higher planting levels this year to combat low crop levels.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
