Eureka! Museum, Halifax

EDM number 1900 in 2006-07, proposed by Linda Riordan on 12/07/2007.

That this House congratulates the award-winning national museum for children Eureka! in Halifax on reaching its 15th anniversary; notes that over 4.5 million youngsters and their parents have visited Eureka! since its doors opened for the first time in 1992; further congratulates the people who had faith in the project and kept believing the museum would be a success throughout the nine years it took from planning to fruition; notes what an asset it is to the Halifax economy with people coming from all parts of Yorkshire and beyond to visit the Museum, which underlines that Halifax is a place with tourist attractions for people of all ages; praises the people who run the museum for continuing to hold the attention of youngsters with a mixture of interactive and stimulating displays and exhibitions; agrees with the comments of the Halifax Evening Courier newspaper that thanks to a group of committed and hard working individuals Eureka's success was always guaranteed; and wishes it every success in the years to come.
