Bt Business In The Community Company Of The Year Winners

EDM number 1858 in 2006-07, proposed by Jim Sheridan on 05/07/2007.

That this House commends BT for winning the Business in the Community Company of the Year Award in recognition of its outstanding achievements in responsible business practice, including its work with ChildLine and the Disasters Emergency Committee, its Environmental Report, the integration of social and environmental criteria in its purchasing and procurement standards and the enhancement of the diversity and work-life balance of its people by enabling home and tele-working; notes that if all British companies were able to achieve carbon emission reductions of 60 per cent. on their 1996 levels, as BT has done, the UK would be making an outstanding response to climate change concerns; and further notes and commends BT for its new target of 80 per cent. carbon reduction by 2016.

This motion has been signed by a total of 43 MPs.
